Programme on Digital Learning and Culture

 

Today, as Alumni Chairman, l had the honour of being invited by the Committee of St. Paul’s Secondary School to attend their “Open Day Programme on Digital Learning and Culture”, held at the school’s multipurpose hall.

The programme showcased a wide range of innovations, digital applications, interactive teaching materials and best practices designed to enrich and enhance the learning experience for both teachers and students.

Digital transformation in education is no longer an option, but a necessity. As technology continues to advance, the education system must also evolve to meet the changing needs of society.

Teachers need to continuously explore more creative, innovative and effective teaching methods, while students should learn to use technology wisely, not merely for entertainment, but as a powerful tool to develop their critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving skills and overall potential.

I must say that I envy the students of today for having such wonderful opportunities to explore digital learning and technology from such a young age.

Looking back at our own school days in the 70s, such technology was virtually unheard of. We certainly did not have access to the digital tools, interactive learning materials or technological resources that students today can enjoy.

In our era, learning was very much based on textbooks, blackboards, handwritten notes and the dedication of our teachers. 

Although times have changed tremendously, the curiosity to learn and the determination to succeed remain just as important.

It is therefore encouraging to see St. Paul’s Secondary School embracing digital transformation and providing students with opportunities to develop skills that will prepare them for an increasingly digital world.

The programme concluded at 12.30 p.m., followed by lunch served at the school lounge. It was indeed a meaningful and enjoyable occasion, and I am grateful for the opportunity to witness the school’s efforts in promoting digital learning and innovation.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR PATRON OF SPSAA BEING APPOINTED AS THE 11TH TYT OF SABAH

TAHNIAH KEPADA PENAUNG PERSATUAN KAMI, SPSAA YANG  DILANTIK SEBAGAI TUAN YANG TERUTAMA KE-11, SABAH

Bekas Ketua Menteri Sabah, Tun Musa Aman telah dilantik sebagai Yang Dipertua Negeri Sabah ke-11 berkuat kuasa 1 Jan 2025.

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim berkenan mengurniakan Surat Cara Pelantikan kepada Tun Musa pada istiadat di Balairung Kecil, Istana Negara, baru baru ini.

Tun Musa, 73, dilantik sebagai Yang Dipertua Negeri Sabah mengikut Perkara 1 Perlembagaan Negeri Sabah, bagi tempoh empat tahun bermula 1 Jan 2025 hingga 31 Dis 2028.

Pelantikan Musa adalah bagi menggantikan Tun Juhar Mahiruddin (TYT ke-10) yang akan menamatkan tempoh perkhidmatan pada 31 Dis ini, selepas menyandang jawatan itu selama empat penggal bermula 1 Jan 2011.

GRADUATION CEREMONY (Form 5 ) - 2023

On Friday, 13^th Dec 2024., St Paul’s Secondary School (SMK St Paul) held their  annual graduation ceremony to celebrate the significant achievements of our Form 5 graduates. It was a joyous occasion to see the graduates come together to mark this important milestone in their academic journeys.

As the Form 5 graduating class ends it's chapter of their learning, they embark on a new adventure filled with great change and new opportunities. It is a time to reflect on their hard work and good times that have brought them to this point, and to celebrate their achievements with friends, family, and teachers.

Once again, representing the Alumni Association, I was invited to attend and officiate the Graduation Ceremony held at the school hall to present graduation Certificates to the graduates.

Pada Jumaat, 13hb Dis 2024., yang baru baru ini,  Sekolah Menengah St Paul  telah mengadakan majlis graduasi tahunan mereka untuk meraikan pencapaian graduan Tingkatan 5. Ini sungguh menggembirakan apabila melihat para graduan berkumpul di Dewan St Paul untuk meraihkan majlis tersebut.

Apabila Tingkatan 5 berakhir, ia adalah bab pembelajaran mereka untuk memulakan pengembaraan baharu yang dipenuhi dengan perubahan besar dan peluang baharu. Ini juga masa untuk direnungkan bagaimana mereka berkerja keras dan masa-masa mereka yang dikorban untuk membawa mereka ke tahap ini, dan untuk meraikan pencapaian mereka bersama rakan, keluarga dan guru.

Sekali lagi saya mewakili Persatuan Alumni, telah dijemput hadir untuk merasmikan Majlis Graduasi tersebut yang diadakan di dewan sekolah untuk  menyampaikan Sijil Graduasi kepada para graduan.

MAKEP 2023

 Student Excellence Award Ceremony - 2023  (MAKEP 2023)

Venue: St Paul's Sec School, Beaufort, Sabah. 

The Executive Committee of the Alumni Association of St Paul’s School was honored again to be invited to attend the MAKEP 2023 held at the school hall on the 21st June 2023. 

YB Datuk Hajah Siti Aminah Bte Aching, the MP for Beaufort was the Guest Of Honor for the ceremony.

The Deputy Chairman of the Alumni Association (SPSAA), Mr. Chin Chee Fui attended the ceremony. Presence at the said ceremony  was our EC member cum School Board Chairman, Mr. Vincient Kok.

Jawatankuasa Eksekutif Persatuan Alumni Sekolah St Paul telah dijemput untuk menghadiri MAKEP 2023 yang diadakan di Dewan Sekolah pada 21 Jun 2023. 

YB Datuk Hajah Siti Aminah Bte Aching, Ahli Parliament Beaufort telah dijemput untuk merasmikan majlis tersebut.

Timbalan Pengerusi Persatuan Alumni (SPSAA). En Chin Chee Fui telah menghadiri  dan turut hadir ke majlis ialah  ahli EC merangkap Pengerusi Lembaga Sekolah, Encik Vincient Kok.

14th AGM - SPSAA

The 14th Annual General Meeting of SPSAA was conducted successfully at the Venetian Club, on the 11th Jun 2023. Twenty three members attended the AGM where lunch was served at 12.00PM before commencing of the meeting.

During the meeting, the 6th Reunion Dinner was duly discussed and decided to be held on the 26th August 2023, this year.  

Mesyuarat Agung Tahunan SPSAA ke-14 telah berlangsung dengan jayanya di Kelab Venition , Penampang pada 11 Jun 2023 jam 1.00PM. 23 ahli  menghadiri AGM tersebut.

Semasa mesyuarat itu, Majlis Makan Malam Reunion ke-6 telah dibincangkan  dan diputuskan untuk diadakan pada 26 Ogos 2023, tahun ini.

The Form 5 Graduation Day is organized by St Paul's Secondary School for Form 5 students as a sign of appreciation for the 5th Form students who are now in their final year of school. Graduation day is a remembrance day for them as school leavers. It was a day filled with joy and pride as the students went on stage to receive their graduation scrolls witnessed by parents, family members and teachers. After spending their academic school years in St Paul’s, they have achieved this significant milestone in their lives and are now graduated as young men and women of caliber.

Once again, representing the Alumni Association, I was invited to attend and officiate the Graduation Ceremony held at the school hall on the 11^th Jan 2023.

Majlis Graduasi Tingkatan 5 ini dianjurkan oleh Sekolah Menengah St Paul untuk pelajar Tingkatan 5 sebagai tanda penghargaan kepada pelajar Tingkatan 5 yang kini berada di tahun akhir persekolahan. Hari graduasi adalah hari kenangan buat mereka sebagai lepasan sekolah. Ia adalah hari yang penuh dengan kegembiraan dan kebanggaan apabila para pelajar naik ke atas pentas untuk menerima skrol pengijazahan mereka dengan disaksikan oleh ibu bapa, ahli keluarga dan guru. Selepas menghabiskan tahun persekolahan akademik mereka di St Paul, mereka kini telah mencapai pencapaian penting  dalam hidup mereka dan telah lulus sebagai lelaki dan wanita muda yang berkaliber.

Sekali lagi, saya mewakili Persatuan Alumni dijemput hadir dan merasmikan Majlis Graduasi yang diadakan di dewan sekolah pada 11hb Jan 2023.
